Thanks and Best Wishes to Owen 16-11-14

KSB announce that Owen Wedgewood has stepped down from the position of

Musical Director with the band.

On behalf of KSB, we would like to thank Owen for all his hard work and energy

over the last few year. He came into the band when there were only a handful of

players at rehearsals and turned things around to produce some memorable

performances. He will be missed but we understand his reasons for wanting a

change and wish him well. We hope to be able to announce his successor very soon.

Owen also added "It has been a very difficult decision to leave Knottingley. They

are a lovely bunch with some very fine players but following a second trip to the

Finals and nearly 7 years with the band, the time feels right to move on and

investigate new opportunities. I leave with some very good memories and pride in

what we have achieved together. I would like to wish the band all the very best for

the future."

Farewell and Good Luck Joe! 01-10-14

As well as having a great time in Cheltenham a couple of weeks ago it is with a

heavy heart we also have to say goodbye to our fabulous soprano cornet player,

Joe Martin, who is destined for great things as he starts his degree at RNCM. Joe

has been a fab member of the band for many years and the band will miss him

lots! Good luck Joe and have a brill time!

This does mean that there is now a vacancy on soprano- if you are interested in

this seat please get in touch though our contact us page.

Fun Down in Cheltenham! 20-09-14

Well what a fun weekend that was! Thank you to all the band for everyone's hard

work in the run up to the finals and all the time put in! KSB unfortunately didn't

come away with the top prize but we did have a brilliant weekend all the same,

onwards and upwards as they say!

Photos will be in the gallery soon!

National Championship Finals Coming Soon! 07-09-14

After a fun summer of various contests and concerts (more updates will be here soon), KSB are super excited to be heading down to Cheltenham in two weeks time for the National Championship Finals. Rehearsals are going well and the band are really enjoying getting their teeth into the test piece, Traversada. Bring on Cheltenham!

Unite the Union Band Club Concert 23-03-14

After a brilliant start to the month there was no stopping KSB as we headed out to entertain the audience at the fabulous Unite the Union Band Club. With sublime solos from our soprano player, Joe; tenor horn, Nat; trombonist, Richard; and percussionist, Laura, the audience really were in for a treat! Ranging from marches to overtures to jazzy numbers, there was something for everyone and both audience and band had a great time.

A big thank you also to Peggy, who presented Trevor with his certificate for an amazing 58 years of service to Knottingley! A great moment and the band were delighted to be able to share this moment with him.

Thank you to everyone who came out on a Sunday evening to support the band, we hope you had as much fun as we did!
